Wedding Planner Books

Las Vegas Helicopter Weddings -
If youre getting married, some people will tell you that youre going to have to hire a wedding planner. True, a wedding planner can take a lot of stress away by handling all of the little details of your special day, but theyre expensive and, if youre not paying attention, the wedding will be more a product of his or her imagination than yours. On the other hand, if you handle the planning yourself, youre going to need some way to keep track of everything. Thats where wedding planner books can come to your rescue. A good book will outline everything you need to take care of when planning your wedding, from getting the first visions of how things should look to buying flowers to all of the final touches that may have slipped your mind. Most wedding planner books will start out by giving you a number of ideas for overall themes or visions for your wedding. Do you want to have a beach theme? What about a new-years celebration? A garden wedding on a spring day? A classic church ceremony? Once you have an idea in your head of what you want your wedding to look like you can start the actual planning of the day. One of the first things you should do is set a budget, which most wedding planner books do a great job of helping out with. Most will give you a budget sheet with a suggested breakdown of the costs, suggesting percentages of the total budget to be spent on flowers, your photographer, the grooms dinner, etc. Of course, to plan out how the budget should be allocated you need to figure out how much you can afford to spend for the wedding, as weddings can cost from $1,000 to $100,000. How much you decide to spend is completely up to you, though it will have an effect on how many guests you can invite and where you spend your money. Once you have a budget, your wedding planner book should walk you through the process of finding locations for a ceremony and a reception, picking out a dress, picking out flowers, finding a photographer, and putting together all of the rest of the components of your wedding. Though a wedding planner book may not be quite as comprehensive as an actual wedding planner, a good book will walk you through the whole process and make sure you dont forget anything along the way.

Wedding Favors

Wedding Traditions -
Your wedding day is truly a day for celebration. One of the most appealing things about a wedding is that you get to share your joy and happiness with the people who matter most to you. For many a bride, months are spent ensuring that every last detail of the big day is taken care of. However many couples look past the idea of giving out favors for weddings. There is no disputing that weddings cost a pretty penny, or in most cases thousands of pennies. Everything from the dress to the flowers has to be factored into the cost, so small things like favors for weddings are often forgotten about in favor of something more important. However, you must keep in mind that the people attending your wedding want to take something with them to remember your special day by. You dont have to spend a small fortune to create a small and memorable item for your guests. Although some couples give out things like small picture frames as favors for weddings, you dont have to go to that length. Instead you can make something small and elegant that your guests will treasure and that youll feel good about giving away since the cost is reasonable. One idea that has stood the test of time is wedding cake. Most likely you will be serving cake at the wedding, but you can also order another cake that will be wrapped in the wedding colors and given away as favors for weddings. You can even purchase small white favor boxes for this very purpose. If you are creative and skilled in calligraphy you can certainly note the date and your names on the favor boxes. Perhaps a stark black written note thanking your guests written on the top of the favor boxes will make these favors for weddings truly memorable. Another relatively inexpensive idea is to create small scrolls on your home computer. These scrolls can then be printed on parchment and hand tied with ribbon that is a color reflective of the wedding party colors. The scrolls can include a thank you from the wedding couple along with an image of their engagement. These make perfect favors for weddings as they are personalized and they allow the guests the opportunity to open the scroll whenever they wish to remember the wedding. Obviously you dont have to incur much cost to create a small take home gift for your wedding guests. With some imagination and a little creative crafting you can make favors for weddings that your guests will treasure for years.

Matching Wedding Bands

Christmas Wedding Decoration Ideas -
Many newlyweds decide on matching wedding bands for their wedding day. The tradition of the bride and groom wearing matching wedding bands began many years ago and still continues in many cultures today. Some couples decide to design their own matching wedding bands. They might consult with a jewelry design expert who will take their vision and craft it into two rings that reflect their own individual tastes. In this case the matching wedding bands can either be exactly the same or be similar. The bride might decide on a more elaborate design while her husband prefers something simpler. The size and cut of the diamonds can be the same even though other characteristics of the rings differ. Other couples decide on matching wedding bands that they find at the jewelers. Depending on their budget the choice can range from a simple band to something that is covered with diamonds. When you go to look at the rings youll be surprised by how many different sets are available. Matching wedding bands can be purchased in gold, silver or platinum. The most popular choice in matching wedding bands is gold. Many couples opt to purchase a band that has a single diamond in it. The band that the women wears may be slightly thinner than the one worn by her husband and the womans diamond is often larger as well. Choosing matching wedding bands that also complement the womans engagement ring is a consideration. There are matching wedding band sets which include the bands worn by the man and the woman as well as the engagement ring. In this case the bride and grooms rings are often exactly the same although hers will be smaller. The engagement ring will differ a bit but still reflect the same design found in the matching wedding bands. In the past tradition dictated that the man would choose the engagement ring on his own and that would foreshadow the design of the matching wedding bands. Most couples now visit the jeweler together to choose the rings. You can purchase matching wedding bands from a local jeweler. They will spend time showing you the rings and explaining the size and clarity of the diamonds. They will also offer free ring sizing so the rings will fit perfectly during the wedding ceremony. Purchasing matching wedding bands online can also be an economical choice. Many online retailers are able to offer a discount because they dont have the overhead of a store. If you do purchase your wedding bands online be sure its from a reputable website.

Wedding Centerpieces

Fall Wedding Invitations -
Centerpieces for weddings come in an array of styles and colors. You might have to do a lot of investigating to find an option that will suit your personality while offering the right atmosphere on your special day. Following are some great ideas for centerpieces for weddings that you may want to explore.
One of the most interesting looks in this wedding must-have is the tall centerpieces for weddings. These designs are created with your guests in mind. You can make a grand statement by choosing a lot of flowers and detail while still giving your guests space as well as an excellent view.
These taller options are usually created out of a sturdy vase that stands about two feet in height. These centerpieces for weddings are actually arranged higher than the seated guests. This allows more room for reception favors, beverages and plates. Your guests can also have great conversation without having to peer around a bulky table centerpiece.
The high standing centerpieces for weddings are a bit more costly than your regular arrangement. They also should be made by a professional who has a great sense of balance. The last thing you want is one toppling over during the reception. Making your own centerpieces for weddings is fine as long as you keep them at a reasonable height.
These arrangements have a very formal feel and they are lacking in one area: reflective light. I chose to forgo the larger centerpieces for weddings and I also skipped the high standing options as well. My arrangements included simple mirrors with candles sitting in votive containers. These containers were surrounded by a few daisies and some pink roses.
The simplicity of the arrangement allowed for plenty of room while the glow from the candles reflecting in the mirrors added delightful romantic character to the room. These inexpensive centerpieces for weddings were a breeze to make and they provided a romantically casual atmosphere for my guests.
Not everyone is keen on the idea of having candles lit at every table. They can snuff out or the threat of someone getting burned may turn some brides off. Why not create centerpieces for weddings out of battery operated candles? They can be decorated without fear of catching fire.
Many brides like to stay true to a specific theme. You can create centerpieces for weddings that hold to the theme. For example, my sister had a Western wedding motif for her occasion. Her bridesmaids and groomsmen wore denim and cowboy hats. She continued the theme by using horseshoe centerpieces that were arranged with different flowers. Each guest was given a horseshoe from these arrangements for a reception favor.
Whether you want to choose classic elegance, simple sophistication or whether you want to be inventive with themes, there are plenty of things you can do with centerpieces for weddings. It just takes some thought and creativity.

Destination Wedding

Candle Wedding Favors -
If youre planning on getting married, picking out a location for your wedding is one of the most important decisions youll make about your special day. The location for both the ceremony and the reception will dictate a lot of things, from the cost of catering to how many people you can invite to the wedding. Many couples are moving away from the standard wedding at a church followed by a reception at a banquet hall to something much more exotic. Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular, since they mean a vacation for everyone involved with the wedding, not just a honeymoon for the bride and groom. The phrase destination wedding refers to a wedding which takes place away from either the bride or grooms hometown, placing the ceremony and/or reception somewhere where everyone travels to get to the wedding. Usually destination weddings are smaller and more expensive than their local counterparts, though the added cost can be offset if the bride and groom honeymoon near the location of their wedding and ask for wedding guests to pay for their travel expenses on their own. Destination weddings are most often held in picturesque and sometimes exotic locations, from Bali to Hawaii. Destination weddings dont necessarily need to mean that everyone has to fly; a few hours drive away from home brings some people to gorgeous, exotic areas that may as well be on the other end of the country. One benefit of relatively close destination weddings over their international counterparts is that more local weddings dont require guests to spend a great deal of money on travel costs, nor do they need to apply for passports or visas. If youre planning on having a destination wedding, realize that many guests who would otherwise like to attend your wedding simply wont be able to afford the added cost of traveling to the wedding location. Many couples who opt for destination weddings have a reception immediately after the ceremony, but then also host an additional reception back home for friends and family who couldnt attend the ceremony itself. This strikes a nice balance between having your wedding where you want while still getting everyone involved. Of course, you could always fly everyone who wants to attend the wedding to the location, though this alternative is extremely expensive and is out of the means of most couples. If you do have a destination wedding, be sure to not leave your guests high-and-dry before and after the ceremony. Have other activities planned for the weekend and offer suggestions for side activities for your guests, as they are essentially planning an entire vacation around your wedding.

Wedding Photos

Gifts For Weddings -
I work in a very large company. We have people from varying backgrounds that work there. Many of the support staff have high school diplomas and some technical training. The designers, sales people and management staff have advanced degrees. Many of our projects involve members of every department working together to meet deadlines. This is when life can get very interesting, as well as fun. I enjoy working with people. I find the differences in peoples personalities and preferences quite enjoyable as well as humorous. One of the lead people on our latest project is a very stern by the book sort of woman. She is a stickler for details and is quite outspoken. One of the support staff on the project is quite the opposite. She is fun loving and often times flies by the seat of her pants. She also has great computer skills as well as clerical skills. She is always my first pick to have involved in a project. During this recent project her daughter was married. At one of the planning meeting she brought along wedding photos to share with the group. When we meet for project meetings we usually start mid morning and have a brownbag lunch brought in at noon so we can continue working. There is usually a short break when people are getting their lunch together when people chat. It was during this time that the worker brought out the wedding photos. I do not know the womans daughter, but I have heard stories about how wild she can get at parties. Her wedding was no exception. The wedding photos were of the reception and the bride dancing on the table tops and other various antics. They had been placed in an album to keep them from getting bent or soiled. According to the wedding photos the reception had been quite an event. Several of us were looking at them when the lead worker was out of the room. When she walked back in she asked what we were doing. We told her we were looking at wedding photos. This interested her because her daughter recently got married, which was a huge social event in the community. I had to leave the room because I was laughing so hard at the look on the lead workers face when she saw the wedding photos. I had seen the formal portraits that were taken at her daughters wedding. I am sure she could not imagine a wedding reception like the one she was seeing in these wedding photos. It situations like this that keeps life interesting.

Newspaper Wedding Announcements

Fall Wedding Bouquets -
Newly married couples have a lot of things on their minds. Between the wedding and reception invitations and the thank-you cards it can be easy to forget newspaper wedding announcements. This detail is often overlooked by many couples especially when they have a honeymoon filled with fun and hours of filling out notes of thanks directly ahead of them. However, newspaper wedding announcements do not have to be completed as soon as you exchange vows. Some people are under the impression that they have to provide the information and details about their special day within hours of the ceremony. Since the time slips away so quickly the notion of preparing newspaper wedding announcements seems outdated by the time they are organized. Part of the challenge is in the marriage photos that are taken during and after the ceremony. Most newspaper wedding announcements have a close-up picture of the newlywed couple accompanying the information. Professional photographers can sometimes take months and months to deliver the photographs from the wedding ceremony. By the time the photos arrive the couple thinks that it is simply too late to send the information to the newspaper. After all, the papers hate to publish yesterdays news. Nevertheless, when it comes to marriage announcements in print it is safe to say that the publication can be a few months behind and still be interesting to locals. There is another thing to consider when sending your information about the marriage a little late. You should remember that the newspaper wedding announcements are keepsakes for the couple and the friends and family of the wedded pair. The information just needs to reach the publication. It doesnt really matter that the union is months old. The value of the newspaper wedding announcement is still great. How late is too late when it comes to newspaper wedding announcement? To be honest, Im really not sure but I would wager that 12 months may be the maximum amount of time for this type of announcements. I have seen couples announce their marriages through the paper as late as nine months after the fact and I really dont see the paper turning anyone away just because they are tardy. Some news has to be timely but newspaper wedding announcements can be placed months after the union. If you are a newlywed couple who wants to share the happy news of a marriage that is a few months old then you should proceed with the newspaper announcement. Its better late than never.
